Pray For These Men

Tuesday nights for nearly a year now a several folks have been gathering to study through the book of Colossians. There are times we’ve spent the night on half of a sentence fragment, and others where we’ve studied through 5 or 6 verses. It has been a pleasure and extremely beneficial to study, grow, be edified, have fellowship, and pray with one another. We’re nearing the end of the book in Chapter 4. We spent this past Tuesday studying:

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison– that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. – Colossians 4:2-4

Not only did we study the text, we took time to do as Paul implored the Colossians to do. We prayed for a lot of local pastors who preach the gospel faithfully and for men of God who preach the word abroad. I try myself to make it a practice to pray for several guys and their congregations on Saturday nights as they prepare to preach on the Lord’s Day.

We wrote out the list, I’d like to share it with you. Copy it, Paste it, read it, pray for these guys, pray for them often.

Take the time often to pray for these local guys and if you’re not from the Port City Area, make a list of your own and pray for the pastors in your area. There is nothing greater you can do for these men than pray for them, their families, their churches, and for the opening of doors for them to proclaim the gospel.
